Victims of Enforced Disappearance: An Unknown Fate and a Loud Voice.
Unveiling justice and restoring hope.
TULIP FOUNDATION
The Tulip Foundation for Women Human Rights Defenders has been actively addressing enforced disappearances in Iraq since May 2021 through its project titled "Victims of Enforced Disappearance: An Unknown Fate and a Loud Voice," funded and supported by the Dutch organization "Watch Impunity" and the Dutch embassy. The project focuses on gathering complaints from families of victims and submitting them to the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances in Geneva. Through this initiative, we have successfully advocated for international recommendations urging the Iraqi government to uncover the fate of the disappeared.

One notable success includes our efforts in uncovering the fate of Ali Jassim, whose remains were returned to his family, enabling them to receive compensation and legal reparations. The Tulip Foundation continues to provide comprehensive legal advice and protection to families of forcibly disappeared individuals, with a particular emphasis on women and girls. We assist in preparing necessary legal documentation for compensation, reparation, and investigation purposes. Our efforts extend across various regions, including Mosul, Anbar, Basra, Nasiriyah, and Kirkuk, focusing on families of disappeared activists and human rights defenders. We remain committed to supporting these families in their pursuit of justice and accountability.
